(KENTUCKY RAIN ) Video- Today we posted the video clip from our visit to the largest farm in Ky. Even though it was 100 degrees at noon , it was great fun. A little Kentucky Rain would have felt good. Our friends Jason Hasert and his wife Steph were great tour guides. I was very impressed with the volume of machinery they had . I love big farms with big machinery. This picture shows us standing by three massive grain carts that could carry 1000 bushels ea. They had four huge planters, two of them were 60 foot wide. They also had a quite a variety of heavy-duty tillage equipment all folded up and put away in the shed. To help in the fall harvest , they used 6 of John Deeres largest combines. Their dryer/ storage bin system holds just under 1 million bushels. I thought that would take a few people to run all this equipment and I was right. Jason said they have 60 workers during the busy times of the year.
Hendrickson Heavy Puller Truck Progress- I am cutting out the first window openings with the plasma cutter this morning. I should get the doors cut out and the hinges mounted on the sides of the cab this afternoon.
Thanks for all the nice e-mails about the new video section. It’s pretty cool we can share more than still pictures now on the webpage.
Tomorrow I will post a picture of a peanut farmer from Georgia in his peanut field and the gift he sent me in the mail today.
