2009 Gaylord Snowmobile Trail Conditions- Today I started up my Ski-Doo Snowmobile and went out for the first time this winter to check out the trails. Now that our 24 inches of snow has settled I thought conditions should be perfect and the tourists shouldn’t arrive until Wed. or Thurs. I headed North out of Gaylord on the Main Snowmobile trail and it was like a washboard , rougher than a old country road full of pot holes!! Otsego County has had a real problem grooming trails for several years now. That’s not good for our tourist industry. More and more Snowmobilers are complaining and saying Gaylord trails are the worst in Northern Michigan. Hopefully the new people now grooming for the first time in Otsego Co. will get it figured out but as of today , they hadn’t yet, ha,ha. These high powered sleds with studs can tear up a trail in just a few minutes if there is a group of 15 or 20 sleds all riding together.
I then decided to head off the rough trails and out into the open fields and it was smooth as going across the lake. Now that was perfect snowmobling (:>)
COACH BRETT FAVRE- Brett Favre isn’t a happy camper these days , seems him and the coach have to make a decision and someone has to go . If management has a say, the coach will have to shut up or ship out. Coaches are a dime a dozen , owners want wins at any cost or they fire coaches at the end of every season with the blink of a eye. Brett Favre got Minn this far and the coach wanted to bench him the last three games. This has to take away some of Brett Favre concentration during the game and three losses might be some of the coaches fault. Brett Favre doesn’t want to sit on the bench and he doesn’t want to be told what to do . He is the KING !! (:>).
We’re hoping Brett goes to the Detroit Lions next year, ha,ha.
