This picture shows another future model project I plan to build. This Cat 10 is Tom Gaspardo’s from Illinois. We have visited Tom and his brother Jr. a couple times at their farm. They are very nice people and we always have fun when we see them. Tom bought the monster Cat 994D Loader model from me. That is one of my favorite models. Tom said he would like me to build him a 1/4 scale or 1/2 scale model of his real Cat 10 showed in this picture. Either scale would be a lot of fun to build.
Maybe this fall I could get going on this project and get it done before winter.
HENDRICKSON TRUCK MODEL – I am making progress on the inside of the cab. Should get it done this afternoon. Then I will start building the first nose piece of the hood. It has two different width nose sections , one short one and a narrow longer one that goes up to the front grille. If all goes well, I’ll post the nxt picture of it tomorrow.
This is only the second scratch-built truck cab I have built. They are quite time consuming to build. I am very happy how it is looking so far. It is going to be one cool truck model . I have always liked trucks too. I have built several truck models, the flow boy was a cool one and I built two logging trucks with Pierce Self loading booms. They were fun to build too. I still want to build a Michigan Gravel Train. The Terex Titan is another truck model I am looking forward to building in the next couple months. I have decided to build the Komatsu 575 A Super Dozer next. Then i will build the Terex Titan after that. Then the Cat no. 16 grader after that. Then the NW Dragline will be fun to build . Those are the next models I will build this year. I jotted down on a piece of paper the other day some of the machines I still want to build and I came up with 75 and I wasn’t even done. So even building one of a kind models, it looks like I will never run out of machines to build. Who knows, maybe i can get in the Gueniss Book of World records for building the most hand built, one of a kind welded steel models , ha,ha.
GAYLORD SNOW UPDATE- We continue to get light snow each day and it has been snowing most of this morning. I sent out the snowplow bills for Jan. and I should get a decent plow check. I’m thinking of going to plow after lunch today as it is slowly getting close to four inches.
