Buckley Train Ride- Today Deb and I drove south of Traverse City to stroll around the grounds of Buckley. We camped here one time in our motorhome several years ago and it was fun . But now days we just make it a day trip from Gaylord. Todays picture shows Deb and I waiting for the train to arrive at the depot. We have rode this train many times and it is always a fun little ride. The weather was hot but we managed to find a few shady spots and enjoy some homeade churned ice cream for a snack. I really enjoyed the tractors and I took a few pictures of some I liked best. We talked to a nice elderly fellow who had several nice tractors and he told us his wife passed away a few months ago . He said she was healthy and just 8 weeks later she had passed away. We felt very sad for him and visited with him for a while. As we walked away I looked at Deb and said this could be our last day together so we need to appreciate every day we have together. It made me glad I took today off to spend with Deb at the Buckley Tractor Show.
Red Lobster – We passed through Traverse City about suppertime and decided to eat at Red Lobster. yum ! It really was another very fun day with my best friend Deb ! (:>)
Workshop- Tomorrow morning I will be back working on the Ship model and the Cat 657E Twin Engined Scraper. I now have 15 sets of stairs and railings built and attached to the rear of the ship model. I also now have both Scraper fenders built and bolted to the lower front frame. The next step on the scraper will be to design the cab sides and floor.
Lipizzan Stallions – We heard on the radio that the Lipizan Stallions will be performing this Sunday at the Petosky Fairgrounds. We saw them in Florida so it would be fun to go see them perform so close to home too.
Hope your all having a great summer. Be sure to spend some quality time with the ones you love. It might be later than you think .
