In today’s video, I show how I cut out the basic shapes for my models. For today’s pieces, I need to cut the holes for the engine and radiator and get the overall shape cut. I start with a piece of 18 gauge sheet metal (talked about in the post yesterday if you missed it: Bron 550 Drainage Tile Plow Miniature Machine) and draw the basic shape onto the metal. Then I take a sheet metal nibbler and cut the basic shape out. To refine the edge, I use a metal shear to cut on the exact lines to form the outlined shape. To cut the inside pieces out, I use a plasma cutter.
