Letourneau 1800 loader arms

LeTourneau L-1800 Loader Arm assembly is now in place on the machine. It is still in the roughed in stage with no body work on the welds. But you can see the overall shape of the parts involved. The model is still in the rough stage with plenty of grinding and body work left to do. It has been a while since I posted weekly pics of the building of one of my models. It’s like a unfinished picture being painted to me and I can imagine what it will look like finished as it gets about half done. It’s still fun for me to wait and show it completed with the bare metal showing. At that stage it almost looks real for a moment . I am pleased with this point of the progress. I am now working on the cool bucket that goes on the front of it. I did not want the smaller 33 yard bucket, so I am building one that could be closer to 55 yards. You all know I like monster buckets, ha,ha.
Gaylord Weather- Mild temps the last couple days melted all our snow. Seems more like spring after all the snow the last month .
Off Road Loader Tires- I had mentioned I bought 10 of these tires and rims like are on this loader model at Indy in Aug. I also mentioned I had ordered 20 more , but I got a E-mail from the fellow and it said he was not successful so far getting anymore. He was not so sure he could get me anymore. That leaves me with 6 left . So looks like the last six will go on the Beauty and the Beast Truck as it has six large tires this style. I wanted to build the Terex Titan also with this style tires. That would have taken ten more tires and rims .
I’ m keeping my fingers crossed I can get 20 more .
Cab, Cab interior , Walkway and Stairs and railings , Engine and radiator are still left to build after the bucket is completed by tomorrow.
