National Farm Toy Show- Thurs. , we would always make the drive from Appleton , Wis. and stop at Madison at the mall and take a little break and walk through the mall. Then we would work our way to Dubuque and cross over the Mississippi River and look down at the campgrounds below the bridge and see where we had camped several times over the years and watched the barges going by on the Mighty Mississippi. Then we would make our way through town and head West for about 20 more miles to Dyersville. We usually arrived in Dyersville around one o clock. Our first stop was always the Country Junction Restaurant. Deb loved their ham dinners, and she always got them , she loved that ham. I hated to tell her that smell she complained about was on her plate and she was eating it. I never did tell her , so I don’t think she realizes got the connection , ha,ha. After we ate we always had to wait til 3:00 to park our motorhome in our camping spot behind the High School. So we always parked our motorhome and would walk through the Toy Museum and see if my models were still there. Then I would look at other toys in the museum and we would head outside to Tent City. That is where the outside vendors set up their toys for sale in tents. It was always exciting to me to be there looking at all the toys. We would always see people we knew in the restaurant and at tent city. At 3:00 we would set up the motorhome and get pluged in for the weekend. Then shortly after that, we always headed out to walk downtown, which was always in the dark . Then we would get back and get cozy in the motorhome for the night.
BIG BUD 747 WILLIAMS BROTHERS. – This is one of my favorite pictures of me talking with the guys who own the real Big Bud from Big Sandy, Montana. They are very nice guys and they were very complimentary to me about my 747Big Bud Model. I posted another picture on the Big Bud section of one of their wives and daughter. They were very nice too and we had a fun visit with all of them. Someday in our travels in our motorhome we plan to go see the real Big Bud at their farm. Their driveway is 30 miles long. ha,ha. I think they said after you get off the pavement , it is 30 miles of dirt roads to their farm.
FOUR INCHES OF SNOW THIS MORNING- Well, we woke up to 4 more inches of snow. Not enough to plow, but I did shovel the driveway by hand.
LETOURNEAU 1800 LOADER PROGRESS- I am working on the front frame section and should have it welded together with the front axle on it by tonight.
34th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY- Just a reminder to you Deb for tomorrow , ha,ha.
